Shitters! If you are a person who drinks alcohol, you have likely experienced a hangover. I don’t have to tell you that they suck—you know it, I know it—if you’re over the age of 30, you’re probably more aware of that fact than you’d like to be!
My hangovers have been notoriously bad over the years, but more often than not lately, it’s felt like a bad roll of the dice. There are nights when I’ll have a few drinks and wake up relatively unscathed, but other times I’m not nearly as lucky.
I’ve tried all kinds of things that claim to help: Electrolyte powders chugged before bed, the pills and potions taken before drinking (I won’t publicly blast the one I took before a friend’s wedding welcome party only to be met with one of the worst hangovers OF MY LIFE), anti-inflammatory meds, prayer… but nothing worked consistently—that is, until I found Last Call (SIBAL20).
I was first introduced to the product after reading an interview with one of the founders, Teddy Kim, back in January (shoutout
!). He explained that their alcohol wellness capsules combined DHM—a plant extract used widely in Korea to boost alcohol metabolism and help your body recovery after drinking—with natural ingredients like theanine, prickly pear, and milk thistle to relieve nausea, aid in hydration, and support your liver.I’ll admit that it was mostly the Korean part that sold me (I’ve seen firsthand how far ahead of us they are with skincare and sunscreen, so it makes sense that they would be on this too!), but the science behind DHM is particularly interesting. It helps boost the enzymes that break down alcohol and acetaldehyde in your body, and has been used across East Asia for ages. It has yet to become mainstream in the U.S., but expect to see a lot more of it here in the next few years (or sooner, if Last Call has anything to do with it!).
On top of it all, the price was also right—$3ish a pop (even less with our code, SIBAL20) seemed like a small price to pay to enjoy a night out without having to compromise my next day—so I placed my first order.
You know what happened next (or rather, what didn’t happen). Pretty much anytime I had more than a drink or two, I took these after getting home and woke up feeling surprisingly functional and clear-headed the next day. Even on nights when I worried I may’ve flown a bit too close to the sun… still good! They quickly became a staple for my big nights, coming along with me to weddings in South Africa and Nashville, a bachelorette weekend in Puerto Rico, and ready to go on my countertop anytime I was coming back from a night out.

Now, will this have you feeling ready to run a marathon the morning after five-plus drinks? Probably not—we are still in the realm of reality here! But you will feel a lot better than you would’ve otherwise, and if you remember your last brutal hangover (mine was in Miami—tears were shed), you know that’s worth just about anything.
Whether you’re drinking often with clients/friends, socially every so often like me, or just once in a blue moon, these are great to have on hand to help you recover. (Sidenote: If you’re planning a wedding or bachelor/ette party, these would make such a good addition to a welcome bag! They offer bulk discounts if you reach out to them directly.)
I would’ve been excited to share this with you all regardless, but the founders, Teddy and Sampson, are the cherry on top. This product came to life not in a boardroom somewhere, but in a conversation between the two of them (friends who met back in high school!) after a trip that Teddy took to Korea back in 2022. As I mentioned, they very kindly provided a code for readers who want to try—SIBAL20 gets you 20% percent off your order. Whether you have a big Fourth of July weekend coming up, a bunch of weddings/events on the calendar, or just want to make the next morning a little easier the next time you have a couple glasses of wine, I really couldn’t recommend it more!
Other things I’m loving lately: Zohran! He and his team ran a resonant, inspiring, contagiously joyful campaign—I felt so excited watching them win! I learned a lot about what he’s trying to do/how he’s trying to do it from this interview. This is my new go-to summer salmon. I’ve been pairing it with a tomato/ feta/ Castelvetrano olive salad for heatwave dinners. Speaking of the heatwave, I have never wanted an EightSleep more. If you find yourself wanting to get me a belated bday present… I would not say no!!! Every six months I rediscover going to the movies… why did I ever stop?! Catch me, a cinephile, at M3GAN 2 next weekend. Currently obsessing over this apple, basil, cyprus, cedar fragrance—the perfect refreshing summer scent! And holy shit is this set a STEAL if I’ve ever seen one!!! PRIARIBI gets you an extra 15% off, bringing $450+ worth of products down to $60ish… wild (and comes with the mask I mentioned last week).
Also, can’t say I’m loving this, but any other Chase Sapphire Reserve users feeling sticker shock from the new $800 annual fee…? Yes they’re adding more credits, but I remember thinking it was crazy when they hiked it past $500! The increases are reportedly coming for Amex Platinum next (theirs are expected to be even higher—I read $995 somewhere?). These are meant to be premium cards that come with a decent amount of perks/credits (and, as the WSJ article above notes, people love the perceived status that they come with too), but I’d like to know if/how these latest hikes are affecting your thoughts about them.
Today’s newsletter was written in partnership Last Call. I had such a good experience with their product as a customer and knew I wanted to share it with you all—it means the world that Teddy and Sampson felt similarly excited about SIBAL! If your brand is interested in working together, drop me a note—I’d love to hear from you!
Today’s discount code and all the rest we have can always be found right here. If you enjoyed today’s letter, please consider leaving a comment on this post or sharing it with a friend—it helps other people find this newsletter and is so appreciated!
I was surprised at the code SIBAL because it’s a Korean swearword but then I realized it’s an acronym! Lolol
