The Early Bird’s Guide to Black Friday Sales
The pros finish their shopping before Thanksgiving Day even starts
Shitters!! We’re technically still 10 days out from Black Friday, but you wouldn’t know that based on how many sales are running already…
It’ll never not be a little insane to me how early the sales start, but when the markdown is good, who am I to say no?! For those of you who want to get a head start on your shopping/saving (I don’t blame you—Thanksgiving week is crazy enough as is!), there are a few key sales to browse ahead of time:
Starting with some deep discounts on my favorite things: This blow dry brush is the only reason my hair ever looks good and now 30% off (their hot rollers also got a markdown/are now en route to me). This infrared sauna blanket is my new favorite toy and 20% off. Get it for yourself, or give as an incredible gift (your skin isn’t supposed to touch the inside of it directly, so throw in a towel insert too). I don’t know if I could survive NYC winters without these cashmere-lined leather tech gloves, now under $90. I’ve worn a stack of these little diamonds (and one slightly bigger one) on my middle finger for years—they always get compliments! I have beef with Naked Cashmere because they marked my prized cashmere puffer down by a lot, but right now it appears back to regular price… that’s a deal that’s too good to miss, so I would check back over the next few days for it to go back on sale (I have the charcoal in a size small).
Sale Radar:
Jenni Kayne (25% off): JK knew their type-A customers would love getting their shopping done early, so their sale has been running for a week already! The highlights include this cult-favorite sculpted cardigan, this chunky knit turtleneck, this darling cashmere polo, and of course this Shitter-favorite linen shirt/shorts set. Upon my latest browse, this chocolate sweater and skirt combo is perfect for Thanksgiving (it’ll probably get to you in time too!). They also make gorgeous $50ish candles (this one is next on my list) with a buy four/get one deal if you stock up, and their Blue Tansy body lotion is just begging to be put on display in your bathroom.
Beyond Yoga (30% off): Beyond Yoga paused their sale today (why, I will never know), but I have it on decent authority that the discount will be back tomorrow, so build your cart/come back to it. Their supersoft Spacedye fabric is a cult-favorite and a personal staple. This onesie has to be my favorite piece, but I also love these leggings—the crossover waist is as flattering as it is comfortable. I’m using the discount to treat myself to this simple tank and refresh my activewear drawer with a set of this sports bra and classic leggings.
Brooklinen (25% off): If you’re in need of a bedding/bath refresh, now is the time! I have their percale and linen sheet bundles—they’re one and done with everything you need. This bed blanket is my latest obsession—such a cozy layer for winter that won’t have you overheating under the covers. Don’t forget about your towels either (I’m a big believer in bath sheet supremacy). And if you’re always staining your white robes (happens), I like this new checkered design!
Glamsquad: If you live for a good blowout, this is a VERY good sale—they’re running a promo where you can get two at-home blowouts for $99… if you live in NYC, that is a STEAL, and the convenience of being able to get your hair done at home/in your robe/while finishing work cannot be overstated (they’re also available in LA, DC, SF, Chicago, etc). The packages are already discounted so my code doesn’t apply, but if you want to try it out (or to treat a friend!), BFCM-SIBAL will get you $20 off your next appointment!
Away (25% off): Most Away luggage is 25% off—I have this carry-on/checked bag duo, but the minute I get more storage space I’m adding this flex bag to my collection for the wedding weekends/shorter trips where I still need to bring options... (aka all of them). They also make featherlight weekenders and diaper backpacks that are worth checking out/gifting.
Other Sale Picks Worth Browsing:
The Monday Swimwear one-piece I saw on Laura Harrier and immediately bought for myself (Code: BFCM25).
Nour Hammour’s gorgeous shearling and leather outerwear. They’ll still set you back, but for a buy now/have forever piece, take the sale price and run! I already made a coat splurge this season (this perfect ponyhair number—regrettably not on sale, but less than half the price of the Toteme one I’d been coveting, so in a way it was??), so I’m tapped out, but someone grab this fab chocolate shearling midi coat in my honor.
J.Crew’s cotton poplin Christmas PJs are a must at 40% off—add a monogram to make it extra special!
Perelel’s pregnancy-safe sleep supplement + creatine-boosted protein powder are both 25% off! They work AND taste good, which is hard to find!
Finding Ferdinand’s clean tinted lip balms are now $20! Their Black Balm is a standout—the pigment looks like it’d be intense, but it goes on sheer and is actually very flattering across skin tones. I was impressed with how creamy their liner is too—this is a great set for gifting (and I love their packaging).
Cadence’s packable capsules/parcels are up to 30% off. I use and love both, but the clear parcels are especially handy whether or not you have the capsules.
Shoppe Amber Interiors is one of my favorite places to browse for luxe, lived-in interior inspiration/finishing touches. On my list: This glazed vase, vintage-looking picture frames, and their gorgeous glassware.
I asked UBeauty if their discount will increase over actual Black Friday, but they’re holding steady at 20% off (PRIYANKA20). I love plenty of their skincare (this duo is a standout), but the real highlight is their insane Super Body Hydrator. I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again—it makes me (a mere mortal) feel like a supermodel, which is not an easy feat!
Isla’s gentle toner is a whopping 35% off, bringing it to under $40 (Code: Special35).
Almina Concept’s perfect button downs are 25% off, along with their rest of their site (the fact that they’ve had this sale running since Nov 1 is likely why this perfect wrap cardigan is completely out of stock).
Material Kitchen is up to 35% off sitewide. I love this knife trio and simple sharpener, and perhaps not what it was intended for, but this salt cellar has become very chic countertop storage for my allergy pills/ Nutrafol…
Also Worth Revisiting:
Now that more things are getting markdowns, it’s worth taking a second look to save on anything you were eyeing!
