Shitters! It’s officially May, my puffer has been banished to the coat closet, and I haven’t seen a single “It’s Gonna Be May” meme on any of my timelines—I am counting my blessings!!!

To be fully transparent with you, I’ve had this draft open on my laptop for two days and it’s become one of those things I’ve read and reread so many times that I no longer have any idea if the sentences (or any of the comma placements for that matter) make sense? I know there are rules for that shit and that as a professional writer I should probably know those rules, but I gotta be honest—when it comes to commas I kinda just wing it.

Anyways, with May comes the return of wedding season (godspeed to all of you who are also on the circuit), but I can’t say much out there is piquing my interest in the event dress category at the moment?? I tend to pick up dresses as I find them rather than shopping specifically for events so I’m not entirely SOL, but I will probably be rewearing one of my old faithful Rhode minis for a night or two of welcome drinks. I know the style has been around for years now, but ditching the belt gives it a different silhouette, and rewearing easy things you love is as good for the soul as it is for the wallet.

Here’s what I’m eyeing this month instead of a new event dress with a one-wear shelf life (plus a poll for all my fellow bag lovers at the end!):
