Shitters! Here at SIBAL we started June very strong with a few ~media mentions~! Last weekend, my micro ode to our favorite mini water bottle was in NYMag’s The Strategist newsletter, and I was delighted to catch a SIBAL shoutout when listening to my friends Madison of Fewer Finer and

Nan
Philip chatting on Nan’s new podcast (looks like we have multiple fans of this skin tint sunscreen)!

Every shoutout or opportunity to write something for a magazine that I read myself makes me so happy—grateful to write to you and to be in such amazing company!

You all just saw a lot of gift-worthy things on my eye earlier this week (I made a fun version on TikTok in case you’re low on 30-somethings to follow there…), but below is some of what I’m browsing for myself, as well as the things I’ve been especially happy to have lately!

Shit I Loved In May: I know they’re on the trendy side, but I don’t think I’ve reached for anything more often this spring than my mesh flats. They’re some of the most versatile, fun, and comfortable things in my closet, and have the easy feel of a sandal with some foot coverage for city streets/the office. These versions by Vince and Margaux are slightly less splurgy. I was first introduced to Mutha via their rich body butter, but I’m loving this lighter weight version—it absorbs more quickly and is perfect for summertime. I got these track pants to fill a gap in my closet (loose, lightweight pants to wear on long walks/ weekend errands)—and I have to say, I didn’t realize how big that void was until it was filled! Speaking of pants, this pair is similarly comfortable with a shape that’s more elevated than your typical sweats (the terry version is summer-friendly!). And if you’re in need of some lunch/dinner ideas, I made this sheetpan chicken at least three times last month—such an easy, healthy, satisfying meal (and the dressing is insane—a new fridge staple!).

Felt like a chic spy in said pants (and got a compliment from Suzie Kondi herself! I’m wearing the small). Raincoat is vintage Prada (two available via eBay—1, 2), bag is a longtime favorite, and the flats are The Row lookalikes (shh!).

Other things I’ve been reading/watching/loving lately: Slightly anxiety-inducing, but I devoured Your Friends and Neighbors on Apple TV. For those who’ve watched, I had fun reading

Ariel LaFond
’s deep dive into what it would actually take to keep Jon Hamm’s cushy life (newly supported by burglarizing his friends’ homes) afloat financially. I’m not usually an audiobook girl, but I really enjoyed listening to Will Guidara of Eleven Madison Park’s book. It’s full of amazing stories from one of the world’s top restaurants, and it felt like one long podcast! If you haven’t seen Overcompensating yet, take the weekend to binge—I beg of you! And I’m revisiting Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi ahead of the star-studded movie (Viola! Idris! Cynthia! That’s just to name a few!). I was on the speech team with Tomi in high school (my claim to fame!), and I feel so proud to have known her then.

Sidenote: Father’s Day is next weekend! While I don’t have a full gift guide for your (reference these if you need ideas), I can share what I’m doing! Per my brother (a certified expert in men’s athleisure), these are the best athletic shorts out there. My dad just got back from walking the Portuguese Camino with his friends (cool trip alert??!!), so I’m using the holiday to refresh some of his workout wear. After much deliberation, I went with these hybrid shorts—they’re good for workouts, walks, and for when he wants to jump in the water (and will get a lot more use than a tie, I can tell you that!).

OK, clearly a jam packed letter today, but below the fold I’m sharing some of what I’m hunting for!

Summer sandals: I really only have two pairs of sandals that I rotate between most of the time: An older version of these gorgeous taupe ones (pricey, but they’re very well made—available on Poshmark in a size 8), and a pair of black leather flip flops from Madewell (they’re gorgeous, but I’m convinced that any leather flip flop will tear up your feet if you’re walking for too long). To be honest, I often end up wearing my mesh flats in the place of sandals, but I’d love to give them a break, so I’ve been looking for other options.
