On My Eye in February
Pop colors, interior additions, and what to wear when your standard sweaters are feeling a little frumpy
Shitters! We are (finally) turning a corner towards the Year of the Fire Horse and I for one could not be more ready. Well frankly, I’d be ready for fire-anything at the moment—it’s been “Real Feel -2 degrees” for what feels like a full month, which has really put a damper on my ability to 1) leave home, 2) feel my toes, and 3) wear anything other than sweatpants (for all the nice pairs I own, those are still the coziest of my collection).
BUT, as tends to happen this time of year, the extra time at home has turned my attention to cleaning up/out, reorganizing, and making worthwhile improvements and upgrades (a purely aesthetic addition, but these tassels from our Valentine’s letter are already right at home on my door handle!). If you’re in the same boat, look out for more fun accents and additions below the fold!

But first, some things I couldn’t get enough of in January: I made it to the first restaurant on my annual shortlist (Musaafer) and it was perfection! Still dreaming of their perfect pani puri! I’ve been LIVING in my sauna blanket* during this cold. If you aren’t doing your laundry multiple times a week, grab an extra towel insert so you always have one ready (P.S. GREAT gift idea!). This Manuka honey lip balm and soothing hand balm/serum* are my freezing nighttime necessities. Looks like you’re loving these supersoft undies as much as I am!! Same with ROZ’s Scalp Scrub*. We partnered on our newsletter about it, but I meant every word—I haven’t reached for regular shampoo once since it arrived! Since starting this Calm (Beauty) supplement, I’ve noticed a definite difference in how relaxed I feel at night and my ability to fall asleep, BUT the founder is a total MAHA kook who I don’t love supporting, so do with this info what you will (can some libs get into the high-end supplement game??? I promise there’s a market for you!!!). And random, but I wandered into a small framing shop on the UES after seeing the vintage print above in the window—I liked it and the beautiful matting/ frame so much that I bought it on the spot! Highly recommend if you need to frame a special piece! *PRIYANKA15 gets you a discount at HigherDose, ROZ, and Violet Grey! The rest of our codes live here.
More below on what’s in my cart/heart (and a very important poll!) Meanwhile, I’m lighting my favorite rose candle and getting in the spirit of the season with my 2015 “making pizza alone on valentine’s day” playlist (a multigenre assortment of bangers, including Leighton Meester’s otherwise forgotten 2009 single, Somebody to Love—my multi-talented queen!!). If enough of you ask nicely, maybe I’ll drop it in the chat. xoxoxo!!!
