Shit I Bought and Liked: A Clean Beauty Sale Worth Browsing
Featuring SIBAL favorites at a very good discount!
Shitters! The term “clean beauty” is a loaded one. I’m not here to tell you whether or not to buy products that fall under this ambiguous umbrella—I personally use some products from brands that market themselves as clean, but I also use others from brands that don’t. What I am here to do is share really good deals on things that I’ve bought and loved that you may want/use/like too (also, I know it’s still early, but many of these also make great gifts, so why not get them at the same discount before the feeding frenzy starts everywhere else?).
Today’s 20% off sale comes via Credo, a well-curated beauty boutique that (IMO) makes a real effort to explain what clean means to them. I love a Sephora as much as the next girl, but when it comes to beauty, I also love a nice in-person shopping experience, and even on its best day, Sephora does NOT have that. The fluorescent lighting, the brand reps in disguise, the teens… I’m sorry, if that place wasn’t full of makeup we would probably call it hell?
Shopping at Credo, on the other hand, is a lovely experience! For starters, I’ve never seen a single teen there!!! As a rule of thumb, if you enjoy something about a smaller chain or business or boutique’s curation, shopping experience, etc., shop with them when you can! I don’t want to live in a world where we just have Sephora and Starbucks and Panera Bread!!! Here are some SIBAL favorites that are worth scooping up during this sale:
Goop Martini Bath Soak: I love giving this to friends as a gift, especially during stressful or taxing periods of their lives—it’s cheeky, it’s luxurious, it’s relaxing, and at a whopping 35% off in this sale, it will not break the bank! I’m picking up a couple to have on hand for easy gifting.
OSEA Undaria Body Set: The deal on this lotion/body oil duo is INSANE—get it to give, get it to keep, get it for everyone because it really is a good one!!! The lotion is relatively lightweight, but still super hydrating, and the oil…! There’s nothing like marinating in a good body oil after a Sunday afternoon everything shower, and this one in particular is a standout. The scent is almost marine and very calming, and the packaging looks really nice in your bathroom or shower. If you’ve been seeing OSEA’s products and wondering what the hype is about, this is a great way to try them out.
Westman Atelier: I’m like a broken record about Westman—they make the best face makeup for day-to-day wear. I’ve been loyal to them for three years, and in a category with as many options as makeup has, that’s saying something! I go back and forth between their foundation stick and complexion drops depending on what kind of finish I want (both are super natural, but the stick is more matte, while the drops are dewier—you can wear them together too). I’m using the discount to try their new concealer—here’s hoping it can do something about my election-induced dark circles...
ROZ Shampoo and Conditioner: I’ve been using this duo for about a year now—it’s super gentle, hydrating, and beautifully scented (and I love their aluminum packaging!). I won’t lie to you and say that it’ll revolutionize your hair texture, but it leaves my hair soft, hydrated, and easily manageable, which is more than I can say for most silicone-free shampoos! Their leave-in conditioning hair milk gets lots of rave reviews too, and like everything else in the line, smells amazing.
OSEA Body Butter: OSEA’s body oil gets all the hype, but this deeply hydrating body butter is a standout too—using it after a shower in the colder months is SUCH a treat. It’s such a luxurious little upgrade to your run of the mill body lotion, and judging by the photo above, this sale couldn’t have come at a better time! Beyond treating yourself, it also makes a great gift. If this showed up at my White Elephant, you bet I’d be stealing for it…
Pai Resurrection Girl Mask: I stumbled into a Credo at some point last winter and this mask from Pai appeared like a lake in the desert. If your skin feels parched in the winter months, this is for you. It leaves your skin feeling SO hydrated and soothed (plus it smells so nice). I was worried that something this rich would break me out, but I had no issues! I feel like every mask lately is some kind of insane peel, but sometimes you just need simple, hydrating goodness.
Other things I’m loving lately: I can’t stop reaching for this perfect brick red tee—I took the larger of my two sizes, but it has a very easy fit (and pairs perfectly with everyone’s favorite lounge pants). Brat summer may be over, but there are some gems on the remix album that are taking me into fall—Mean Girls with Julian Casablancas and this riff on Apple are my favorites. I decided that instead of watching bits and pieces of every SNL skit on TikTok I’d just… watch the show instead? It’s the perfect Sunday afternoon background TV. I got dinner at Epistrophy recently, and couldn’t decide what I liked more: their orecchiette (which I ordered in approximately five nights later because I couldn’t stop thinking about it), or the fact that I could get a Friday night, 7:30pm table with zero wait.
Love this one and agree on all things Osea
My mom re-gifted a partially used bottle of the Osea body oil in my stocking last Xmas and I was all bitchy about it at the time, cut to a now-empty bottle. It is really awesome!
