Shitters!!! So many things to discuss this week! Benny and Terry’s breakup? The Louvre heist being ripped from the Dhoom movies? The newly bulldozed White House? 6-7?!?! (The teacher calling it a virus that has taken over kids’ minds made me laugh.)
The real reason I’m here is that it’s officially sweatshirt season, and do I have recs for you! I’m a SUCKER for good loungewear (to the point that there is an actual moratorium on sweatshirts in this house), but I’ve also made my share of missteps over the years (don’t ask about the ungodly sum of money I once spent on the “perfect” rose-colored sweatset in COVID only to not touch it once since 2021…). That is to say that my wisdom here has been honed over time, and I feel equipped to make some serious suggestions in this category!
What makes an Emotional Support Sweatshirt, you ask?
Obviously it’s comfortable. Soft + cozy is the baseline.
It’s also comfortING. It’s the one you reach for after a long day or night, on the cursed flight after a wedding or bachelor/ette party (that is somehow always delayed, WHY did you book American), when you’re on day five of work travel and would give anything to be in your bed, when you’re sick/ nauseous/ hungover and wish your mom were there to take care of you, when you’re so heartbroken that you’re googling equine therapy and wondering if you should move to an oil rig.
In the face of the above, said sweatshirt doesn’t make you look quite as bad as you may feel.
Those are BIG asks, but I think of these as small comforts in tough moments and cute cozies for the sweet ones. They’re the pieces that I love wholeheartedly—here’s hoping they become ones you love too!

1. Mother
What is it about denim brands?! They make the best tees, and now, dare I say, the single best sweatshirt I own?! Correction: The best two because I broke my own rule and bought it in multiple colors. I got the cream last year and I think it’s slightly softer between the two, BUT the grey is a better color for wearing out IMO (I’ve had it for a couple weeks now and have been reaching for it nonstop). They’re soft to the touch, supremely comfortable, and not at all stiff or starchy, and fit-wise, they’re appropriately relaxed without being too bulky or oversized. The vibe is definitely casual/loungey, but it’s the first thing I’m reaching for on the weekends lately—I took the smaller of my two sizes.
Sidenote: How adorable are these?!!! I brought them home from Italy a few weeks ago, and finally broke them out after a couple coats of this stuff (via
Philip!). The fleece-y material is fun to pair with sweaters/sweatshirts and you can wear with the logo strap showing or under your foot—I just love them! (They run true to size.)
2. The Great
I am neither an East Side Angeleno nor a cool mom, but I have adopted their unofficial uniform! These to me feel quintessentially LA—they come with the right vintage-y details (perfect stitching, subtle distressing on the hems, their signature split cuff) and instead of being fleece-y like the Mother sweatshirt, they’re made of washed terry, which makes them lighter and better for temps year-round. I own several styles from the brand—this for something more oversized over leggings, this for something more fitted to wear out with jeans, but the OG (pictured) is my most frequently worn and the best place to start (I’m in the 0). I grab this when I want something cozy, but not too warm to the point that I might overheat. It’s perfect for summer nights, travel days, to sleep in, etc. I got mine as a matching set (this is my favorite version of their sweatpants), but they’re great to mix as separates, and I love the embroidery options too. (While you’re there, don’t miss their sweatshirt socks, made of the same material but for your toes!)
Bonus: Custom Etsy!
This SIBAL sweatshirt was a perfect birthday gift from my sweet friend Margaret!!! How good?!?! Etsy gear can be a gamble, but this one’s worth saving—the colors are perfect, the stitching is beautiful, and the sweatshirt is light and soft without a hefty price tag. It makes for such a fun/ sweet/ thoughtful gift for a friend or loved one!
Other Things I’m Loving Lately:
I was in this week’s issue of Gatekeeping sharing books, bras, bags, and more! Thanks to
for having me!Hikerkind!!! They are SUCH a smart/ cool/ thoughtful women’s hiking brand, and I had the best time getting outside with them upstate. I’m newly in love with their packable puffer—the color is stunning, the pockets are seriously life-changing, and that collar…!!!
Sharing my stash of products with my favorite people! I sent my sister off to her next rotation (at Yale, smarty pants!) with this Overnight repair serum from Crown Affair (PRIYANKA15), and I mailed this all-in-one Roz Kit to my angel friend who’s expecting two under two (you don’t have to be a mom yourself to know that that is not for the weak!!!).
Speaking of product stashes, the Credo sale is still on for the weekend!! I consider myself a ride or die for everything that was in this letter!
J.Crew cashmere is 20-30% off this weekend! This striped number is a favorite for Saturdays, and this black crew is my go-to for work lately (though I’d also pair with slingbacks and these red stripey pants for holiday parties!).
These continue to be my one-two punch for getting a wink of sleep these days.
And, as promised, a few TikToks that made me laugh: 1/2/3/4/5. I keep a running list of things I think of often and #4 is HIGH on it.

This is the round up I needed! Do you mind updating the great sweatpants you like? I get a bad gateway!
Shout out to Reigning Champ. They’re technically a men’s brand but so cozy and I love. Also American Giant, which lasts forever. Has anyone tried Hey Gang or Jamie Haller? They look so good to me but I have never tried.
